Angola separatist group says holding Portuguese
A separatist group in the Angolan enclave of Cabinda has said it's holding five Portuguese construction workers who were abducted in the area last week. A spokesman for the group, known as FLEC-Renewed, said the men were being well treated. He didn't set out any demands for their release, but he did go on to criticise Portugal for handing Cabinda to Angola on a plate, as he put it, when Angola won its independence in 1975. The spokesman said Portugal should make amends. Separatists in Cabinda have frequently kidnapped foreigners in the past and then demanded ransom money to finance their fight against the Angolan army.
