Indonesian president to be investigated

The Indonesian parliament has voted to investigate two financial scandals linked to President Abdurrahman Wahid.

One involves the disappearance of four million dollars from the state's food agency, Bulog.

The money is alleged to have been stolen by a number of people who said they were acting on the president's behalf, including Mr Wahid's masseur.

Police say most of the money has been recovered.

The other scandal concerns a personal donation of two million dollars to President Wahid from the Sultan of Brunei for humanitarian aid in the strife-torn province of Aceh.

The president is alleged not to have made a full disclosure of the donation.
