Two Russians killed in Checynya attack
Two Russian soldiers have been killed in a remote controlled mine explosion in Chechnya. The attack occurred when they were driving in the village of Dzhani-Vedeno; three other soldiers were wounded. Russian military officials are quoted as saying that seven other soldiers were wounded in a second attack near the village of Bachi-Yurt. The Russians say that they destroyed two amall rebel units moving along trails in the border region between Chechnya and Ingushetia. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
