Oasis: "Don't throw bottles. You know what happens"

Rock band Oasis threatened to walk off stage at a music festival after a member of the crowd threw a bottle on stage on Saturday night.

Songwriter Noel Gallagher told a 30,000 crowd at the Gig on the Green event in Glasgow: "Don't throw bottles. You know what happens."

The Manchester band were 65 minutes into their headline set when songwriter Noel Gallagher issued the warning. There was no further crowd trouble after this.

But although there was intense speculation it could be the rock supergroup's last concert in Scotland, no mention of breaking up was made.

A spokesman for the band has dismissed talk of a break-up but Noel Gallagher has made it clear he intends to review his future with Oasis when the tour comes to an end in Leeds on Monday.

The intense feuding between Noel and Liam has reached new heights in recent months.

30,000 fans are expected

And there have been rumours within the music industry that their current Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Tour could be their last.

Other acts in the line-up for Saturday include Scottish favourites like Primal Scream and Teenage Fanclub.

Nearly 20,000 music fans were at the Gig on the Green on Friday night.

Stereophonics and Paul Weller topped the bill on the first night of the two-day festival.

A host of bands are expected to perform on five different stages, including comedy and dance.

The event requires the same amount of power as it would take to light a small town.

It has prompted some complaints from neighbours about the noise levels.
