Clinton ignores Nigeria debt plea |

| Speaking at the start of his tour of African nations, President Clinton said Nigeria's return to democracy was the most important transition in Africa since the end of apartheid in South Africa. But he turned down appeals for foreign debt relief. Instead he offered financial help for education and the fight against AIDS. The BBC's Samantha Simmonds reports.
