Driver killed in coach crash
Twenty holidaymakers have been taken to hospital after the coach they were travelling in crashed, killing their driver.

The accident happened on the A1 near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, at 1943 BST when a Wallace Arnold coach left the northbound carriageway and ended up in a field.

The 40 people on board were returning from various holidays and were on their way home to the north east of England, according to North Yorkshire Police.

A spokesman said the driver died while 19 people were treated for cuts and bruises at the Friarage Hospital in Harrogate. One other person had been detained for observations.

No other vehicle was involved.

Arrangements had been made by the coach company for the passengers to continue on their journey.

North Yorkshire Police were unable to say yet how the accident had happened.
