Clinton to stop over in Cairo

President Clinton is to make a brief visit to Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the Middle East peace process with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The meeting is part of intensive diplomatic efforts following the failure of the recent Camp David talks on the Middle East, and is being added to the end of a visit to Africa that Mr Clinton is due to begin on Saturday.

He is scheduled to spend two days in Nigeria before flying to Arusha in Tanzania to address the Burundi peace talks on Monday.
