UK under pressure to resettle islanders
The inhabitants of Diego Garcia, moved to Mauritius and the Seychelles by the British Government in 1973 to make way for a United States air base, last month started a High Court action demanding to be returned. Their lawyer, Richard Gifford, said that a Foreign Office-commissioned report by independent experts gave a major boost to the islanders' case. The BBC's World at One programme reports.
