Wilfred Ofusu Abrockwe disappeared at the London Eye
An autistic 13-year-old boy who went missing after a visit to the Millennium Wheel in London has been found safe and well.

Wilfred Ofusu Abrockwe, who communicates only by sign language, was on a visit to the attraction, organised by Haringey social services, when he disappeared just after midday on Thursday.

The child was found at Embankment tube station

He has been returned home after being found by an off-duty police officer at Embankment tube station at 2300 BST.

Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police and the Territorial Support Group had mounted a search for the youngster from north London.

Detective Inspector Ian Mcdonald from the Metropolitan Police said Wilfred was one of four children on the trip.

Two of the other special needs children ran off and the carers chased after them, leaving Wilfred alone for a brief moment, he said.

"They left him for a very short while," said Mr Mcdonald. "But when they came back he had gone."

He went missing once before, just before the school summer holidays, when he jumped on a local London train but was soon found.
