Rwanda rejects separate Congo talks

Rwanda has rejected proposals by the Congolese leader President Kabila for new talks on the Congolese peace process.

Mr Kabila suggested a four way regional summit including Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi when his government announced its suspension of the Lusaka peace agreement.

The Rwandan foreign minister, Andre Bumaya, told journalists in Kigalim that the Lusaka accord is the only framework through which peace can be restored in the Congo and the whole region.
