Parliament to debate Kargil incursion

The Indian parliament is due later on Thursday to debate a report into last year's incursion by Pakistani-backed fighters into Indian-administered Kashmir.

The report into the Kargil incursion has been heavily censored - among the sections deleted is an assessment of the country's main intelligence agency.

The BBC correspondent in Delhi says that opposition MPs are bound to be angry at the censorship, which they will see as an exercise in diluting the truth in order to protect the image of the country's intelligence agencies.
