Funeral of reserve constable
Investigating the causes of the incident
Incident happened at Kennedy Way
The police officer who died after he was hit by a car in west Belfast has been held buried after a formal police funeral in Newtownards, County Down.

RUC Reserve Constable Norman Thompson, 39, died after he was struck by a car at Upper Kennedy Way early on Saturday.

He had been stationed at Andersonstown in west Belfast.

Constable Thompson was married with two children.

A man appeared in court on Monday charged with murdering Constable Thompson.
