Israel smashes Bin Laden 'network'

The authorities in Israel say they have broken up a network of Islamic militants allegedly linked to the Saudi exile, Osama bin Laden.

The ring was uncovered by the secret service and more than twenty Arabs have been arrested in recent months.

Israeli radio reports said the group was planning to carry out suicide bombings in Israel, attack Jewish settlements and kidnap Israeli soldiers.

Osama bin Laden, who's living in Afghanistan, is wanted by the United States in connection with the bombing of two of its embassies in East Africa in 1998.

More than two-hundred people were killed and thousands injured in the attacks.
