Ballykissangel actor's death 'suspicious'

The cast of the award-winning TV series
An Irish actor who featured in the BBC television series Ballykissangel has been found dead in suspicious circumstances in Dublin.

Robert Doolin, 35, was discovered lying on the pavement in Dublin city centre following a row outside a taxi office.


Robert Doolin: Gardai say death was 'suspicious'
Gardai are investigating Mr Doolin's death which is being treated as 'suspicious'.

Mr Doolin was best known in the Irish Republic as the star of the RTE television comedy Upwardly Mobile, but had also been in a number of films including the Snapper and the Commitments.

He played the part of Duffy in Ballykissangel which is filmed just outside Dublin.

A post mortem examination was being performed.

Earlier this year Tony Doyle, the award-winning actor who played the series' roguish Quigley, died suddenly.
