Robbie's chart-topping hat-trick
![]() Purr-fect: Robbie has completed a hat-trick
Pop superstar Robbie Williams is celebrating after clinching his third successive UK number one.
Rock DJ went straight to the top of the singles charts, displacing Craig David's 7 Days. Williams' two previous chart-toppers were Millennium and She's The One. Rock DJ is the first single from his forthcoming album Sing When You're Winning.
The singer has hardly been around to promote it, but had still shifted 110,000 copies by last Thursday. The video for the single had also been banned by several TV shows because it was deemed to be too gory. Offending Incredible special effects allow Williams to tear off his skin and hurl his internal organs at people. When it was shown on Top of the Pops it was cut short, before the offending scenes appeared. Despite his absence, Williams has hardly been out of the news in the last week, after jetting off to the south of France with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. The tabloid newspapers have been speculating about their relationship and published photographs of the pair in their swimwear, but their spokespeople have denied any romance. Williams was not the only solo singer who had cause to celebrate over the weekend. Boyzone singer Ronan Keating's debut solo album - Ronan - went straight to the top of the charts. It is the star's fifth successive album to go to number one, following earlier successes with the boy band.
