Children escape injury after attack
A petrol bomb was thrown at front door of house
A petrol bomb was thrown at the front door
Four children have escaped injury in a petrol bomb attack on a house in Antrim.

Two teenagers were babysitting two girls aged five and 10 in the house at Craighill when a large boulder was thrown through the front window.

The attack happened shortly before 2330 BST on Saturday.

The boulder narrowly missed the five-year-old girl.

A petrol bomb was then thrown at the front door. Neighbours managed to put the fire out.

There was slight scorch damage to the front door.

The children were not injured, but suffered shock following the attack.

The Mayor of Antrim, Paddy Marks, said the petrol bomb attack in the town could easily have turned into a tragedy.

"My first reaction was shock and then anger," he said.

The police have appealed for witnesses and have ruled out a sectarian motive.
