Questioning for Montenegro captives
![]() The men were arrested near the Montenegran border
By Brian Barron in Podgorica
Two British policemen and two Canadians who were arrested by the Yugoslav army early last week are spending their first weekend in captivity.
Normally, there would be no more than 100 soldiers in such an outpost, though it's understood a contingent of officers have arrived from Belgrade, presumably to help with further interrogation and evaluation of testimony. Hopes for access It's still not clear whether the federal military authorities intend to press charges.
The two British policemen, Adrian Prangnell from Hampshire and John Yore from Cambridgeshire, have been training police recruits in Kosovo. The Government of Montenegro has joined the men's employers - the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe - in dismissing allegations by the Yugoslav military that the men might have been instructing secessionists in this republic.
