Cyclist dies after road accident

Police have appealed for witnesses to a road accident in which a cyclist was killed to come forward.

The male cyclist was in collision with a car on the Movilla Road in Newtownards, County Down, at about 0915 BST on Saturday.

He died at the scene.

Police were able to establish the dead man's identity and have contacted the man's family.

However, his name has not yet been released.

Police want anyone who may have witnessed the fatal accident to contact detectives on 028 918080.
