Biggest robbery in Paraguay's history

Eight gunmen have committed what has been described as the biggest robbery in the history of Paraguay.

The gunmen, disguised as soldiers, struck on Friday evening at the airport in the Paraguayan capital, Asuncion, where security guards were loading around sixteen million dollars on an aircraft bound for Argentina and then on to New York.

The gunmen drove onto the tarmac, disarmed the guards and escaped with more than eleven million dollars.

The Paraguayan police are investigating the possibility that the gunmen may have had help from the security guards or airport personnel.
