Spain plans immigration crackdown |

| The Spanish Cabinet approves a controversial immigration bill which critics claim contravenes the UN decreee on the Rights of Refugees. The Bill which will go before parliament in the Autumn will allow the authorities to expel tens of thousands of illegal immigrants within 48 hours and also removes many of the priveliges enjoyed presently by both legal and illegal immigrants in Spain. As the BBC's Eva Millet in Barcelona explains, the current law has only been on the statute books for seven months. |
