WAGs experience real poverty in South Africa

Five footballers' wives and girlfriends have been to the 2010 World Cup host nation to experience what life is like away from the pitch - and without the trappings of wealth - by working in some of South Africa's poorest and most dangerous areas.

Imogen Thomas, glamour model and ex-girlfriend of England footballer Jermaine Defoe, helped care for some of the 150 orphans at Baphumelele Children's Home in Khayelitsha, South Africa.

WAGs, Kids And World Cup Dreams begins on BBC Three on Sunday 16 May at 2100 BST and then afterwards on BBC iPlayer.
