Man killed in three vehicle crash

Emergency services attended the crash scene
A man has died and three people have been injured in a road accident near Bangor, County Down.

Jamie Brook, 28, from Glasgow died when three vehicles were involved in the collision at the junction of the Rathgael Road and the citybound lane of the Belfast Road.

The accident - involving a van, a lorry and a car - happened just before 0800 BST on Friday.

Mr Brook had been in the van driving towards Belfast.

Two men and a woman were injured but their condition is not yet known. The men were taken to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald.

A 35-year-old man was discharged after treatment for minor injuries.

The other man, who is 29, sustained head and facial injuries. He is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Fire and ambulance crews attended the scene.

The Belfast Road at the Rathgael Road junction and the Rathgael Road was closed for some time and traffic diversions were put into operation.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 02890650222.
