Russian PM Putin tags polar bear in Arctic expedition

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin donned Arctic gear and tagged a polar bear during a visit to the Franz Joseph Land archipelago.

He was filmed helping to weigh and fix a satellite collar to an anaesthetised wild polar bear, which will monitor the animal's behaviour and migration habits.

The expedition, organised by the government and the Russian Geographical Society, aims to assess how global warming affects polar bears.
