Aid workers still captive in Somalia
The French aid agency Action Against Hunger has said it cannot continue its operations in Somalia until two volunteers being held captive are released. The two European aid workers were kidnapped last week from the agency's compound in southern Mogadishu by militiamen loyal to the Somali warlord Osman Ali Atto. But he has said that the kidnapping took place without his approval and has set up a negotiating committee to secure the release of the hostages. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
