Yugoslavs arrest Britons 'for spying'

The Yugoslav army has confirmed it has arrested four British citizens on suspicion of spying.

British diplomats say they're still checking the details, which were first given by a local news agency Montena-Fax.

The four were reported to have been caught in possession of firearms on Tuesday, in the border region between Montenegro and Kosovo.

On Monday, the authorities in Belgrade said they'd arrested four Dutchmen in a similar area for plotting to kidnap or kill President Slobodan Milosevic.

The Dutch government says it's still seeking more details.

The Yugoslav information minister, Goran Matic, accused Western secret services of helping the Dutchmen plot against the President.
