Kashmir group accuses India over ceasefire

The separatist group in Indian-administered Kashmir, Hizbul Mujahideen, has accused the Indian army of violating the joint ceasefire that they've declared.

In a message to a news agency in Srinagar, a Hizbul spokesman said Indian troops had killed a Hizbul activist and had forced others to surrender, as well as harassing villagers.

The army said later that the killing of the activist had been the result of a misunderstanding.

Indian officials and Hizbul commanders held their first meeting to discuss the ceasefire last Thursday and a second is planned. Hizbul has repeated its appeal to other separatist groups to join the Kashmir ceasefire.
