Jagger ordered to reveal finances
Mick Jagger
Jagger has to provide full details of his earnings for last year
Rolling Stone Mick Jagger has been ordered to disclose his finances to determine child support for the baby he recently had with Brazilian model Luciana Morad.

The 56-year-old rock star wants to limit support for his 14-month-old son to around £3,500 per month, but Morad is seeking up to £22,000.

The order for Jagger to disclose his finances came from a New York family court examiner. Jagger's lawyer John Vassallo is appealing against the decision.

Jagger was not in court for the hearing and testified by telephone from London.

Morad wants £22,000 to look after Lucas

David Kirshblum, a hearing examiner for the Family Court, ruled: "This court should not have to guess what the respondent's income is, nor will it utilise a search engine, the truthfulness of the content of which this court cannot guarantee."

Vassallo argued that his client should not have to reveal his finances because he was not a resident of New York.

He also objected to the disclosure on the grounds that once out in the open, those details would be seized upon by the media.

Jagger also has 30 days to send the court "a recent pay stub and all of his 1999 income tax returns from all jurisdictions with all attachments".

'Game'

The Rolling Stone frontman has admitted he is the father of 29-year-old Morad's son, Lucas.

Morad says the £22,000 per month she needs to look after Lucas would go towards nannies, housekeepers and adequate security measures in New York and Brazil.

She was also absent from the court hearing.

Kirschblum expressed his annoyance at the no-show of both Morad and Jagger, particularly after being told the singer had been in New York two weeks earlier.

Kirshblum said: "It is my intent that if Mr Jagger is going to come back to this state, he's going to appear in this courtroom."

He added that if Jagger were discovered to be in the city, he would be considered in default, saying: "The game is over and there will be no further electronic means of communication."

Lucas is Jagger's seventh child. He has Karis, 29, by singer Marsha Hunt, 28-year-old fashion designer Jade by his former wife Bianca, and four children with model Jerry Hall.

Jagger split up with Hall last year after a court ruled their 1990 Hindu marriage in Bali was not valid under English law.

The couple remain close and Jagger has recently been encouraging Hall in her role as Mrs Robinson in The Graduate on the London stage.
