Bodo guerrillas killed in Assam

Two guerrillas of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland or NDFB, which claimed responsibility for two explosion in India's northeastern state of Assam on Sunday and Monday, have been killed in a clash with the army.

A military spokesman in Assam, Major Rabindra Bhattacharya, told the BBC that the two guerrillas were killed near Goreswar the site of the Monday explosion in which 12 soldiers died .

He said the rebels were killed when the soldiers fired on them as they attempted to escape their hideout which had been surrounded by the army.
