Kenya Coast security follows migrant tension
The authorities in Kenya's south-eastern Coast province have introduced strict security measures following what's been described as heightened tension between indigenous groups and migrants from outlying provinces. The Provincial Commissioner has increased police numbers and patrols in an attempt to prevent the situation escalating. Last year more than a-hundred people died in similar violence. Local people blame migrants for taking jobs and land. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
