Egypt maintains peace talks momentum

Egypt has kept up the diplomatic momentum in its quest for progress in the Middle East peace process.

The Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, has held separate talks with King Abdullah of Jordan and with the United States Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Edward Walker.

An advisor to President Mubarak, Osama al-Baz, told reporters that since the failure of the Camp David talks, Egypt has consulted widely in the Arab world and with the West.
