Google to show Iraqi museum images

The internet giant Google has announced it's going to be making available online much of the Iraqi national museum's collection.

The search engine's chief executive, Eric Schmidt, made the announcement during a visit to the museum, where he said 14,000 images would be carried on Google, documenting the development of civilisation in Iraq from prehistoric to Islamic times.

Jim Muir reports from Baghdad.
