Polls suggest drop in Abbas support

Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, is expected to announce parliamentary elections shortly.

But Hamas, which governs Gaza, is unlikely to respect a Fatah election date.

Recent public opinion polls also suggest a drop in Mahmoud Abbas's popularity and credibility.
