US crane worker rescues river woman

A construction worker from Des Moines, Iowa, is being hailed a hero after he lowered himself from a crane to pluck a woman from a fast flowing river.

Jason Oglesbee was lowered into the Des Moines river after a couple were spotted in difficulties after their boat capsized.

Mr Oglesbee was able to pull 67-year-old Patricia Neely from the fast flowing river but her husband, Ralph Neely, 62, was unable to escape. His body was later found further downstream.

Lisa Hampele reports.
