The Red Cross is marking the 150th anniversary of the battle which inspired Henri Dunant to found the world's best known humanitarian movement.

The battle of Solferino, a conflict between the armies of Austria, France and Italy, left 40,000 soldiers dead or dying with almost no medical help.

Imogen Foulkes reports from the festivities in Solferino.
