Colombia's tomato fight festival

Residents of Sutamarchan in Colombia have taken part in their fifth annual tomato food fight, 'Tomatina'.

The festival was created by locals when prices in the flower trade plummeted, leaving many of them bankrupt.

Moving into the tomato export business, they copied similar festivals in France and Spain to help promote their industry.

More than 15 tonnes of inedible tomatoes were collected for this year's festival.
