Tibetans across the world have staged protest rallies to mark the 50th anniversary of a failed uprising against Chinese rule in Tibet.
Demonstrators chanted "Free Tibet!" during a march in Delhi, India, while some participants prayed for the end of Chinese domination.
In Nepal, which is home to thousands of Tibetan exiles, people held a rally in the capital Kathmandu, amid a heavy police presence.
A number of protesters were detained by Nepalese police, who also sealed off the area around the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu.

In Japan, Buddhist monks held a candle-lit vigil and a prayer in Hiroshima in solidarity with the Tibetan cause.
Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, accused Beijing of having subjected Tibetans to "hell on Earth" in the last 50 years.
China - who denies the Dalai Lama's claims - has stepped up security in Tibet, with riot police patrolling the streets of the capital Lhasa.
