Yugoslavia 3-3 Slovenia
(Charleroi - Att: 15,000) 4 mins: Zlatko Zahovic taps a free-kick off to Zlejko MIlinovic whose fierce long-range drive whistles past the post, much to Ivica Kralj's relief in the Yugoslav goal. 8 mins: Darko Kovacevic steals a yard inside the area but his left-foot shot is well parried by Slovenian keeper Mladen Dabanovic. 14 mins: Slovenian captain Darko Milanic receives a yellow card for a foul on Kovacevic. 20 mins: Slovenia have settled well in their first ever match in a European Championship finals, with Zahovic threatening several times down the left.
23 mins: Amir Karic swings over a curling free-kick from the left and Zahovic gets ahead of his marker to guide a precise header into the bottom corner. 31 mins: Mladen Rudonja gets free down the right for Slovenia and forces the Yugoslav defence to clear two dangerous crosses.
36 mins: Yugoslavia are really struggling to cope with a solid and compact Slovenian outfit who are crossing well from both flanks. Veteran Dragan Stojkovic comes on to replace Dejan Stankovic as they try to redress the balance of play. 38 mins: Stojkovic is gifted the ball in the box from an error by Karic, but fails to capitalise. 44 mins: Karic sends over another dangerous cross from the left, but Udovic is unable to control his header. 50 mins: Sinisa Mihajlovic strikes a fine free-kick from a fair distance but Dabanovic fields it comfortably enough.
52 mins: Zahovic whips in a quick set-piece while Yugoslavia bring on Savo Milosevic as a substitute and Miran Pavlin rises superbly to nod home. Slovenia are two goals ahead, and deservedly so.
57 mins: Mihajlovic gives the ball away just yards outside the box with a poor pass. Zahovic pounces and strokes the ball past Kralj for his second, and Slovenia's third.
67 mins: Yugoslavia get a lifeline, when Djukic pulls back a ball that the Slovenians think is going out and substitute Milosevic bundles the ball into the net.
70 mins: Mijatovic picks the ball up on the edge of the box and rolls the ball across for Ljubinko Drulovic to drill home. It's game on now.
73 mins: Unbelievably, Yugoslavia are level. Drulovic slides the ball across the six-yard box and Milosevic grabs his second with a close-range tap-in. 78 mins: Milosevic, the former Aston Villa hitman, is causing Slovenia all sorts of problems. He breaks free on the right but the attack breaks down because there is no support. 82 mins: Slavisa Jokanovic heads a Stojkovic free-kick just over the bar. Yugoslavia are really on top now - can Slovenia, who were so dominant earlier on, now hang on for a draw?
90 mins: Both sides have chances to snatch it, with Zahovic still pulling the strings for Slovenia. But after three minutes of injury-time, the referee blows for the end of an extraordinary encounter.
Yugoslavia: Kralj, Dudic, Djukic, Mihajlovic, Nadj, D. Stankovic, Jokanovic, Drulovic, Jugovic, Kovacevic, Mijatovic. Slovenia: Dabanovic, Milanic, Galic, Milinovic, Novak, Ceh, Pavlin, Karic, Zahovic, Udovic, Rudonja.
