Spain v Norway clockwatch
![]() Tore Andre Flo and Fernando Hierro clash in the air
Spain 0-1 Norway
5 min: Spain's keeper Francisco Molina comes tearing from his penalty area to head clear following a Norwegian break. 10 mins: Thomas Myhre is called into action for the first time as he brilliant palms a vicious dipping shot from Joseba Etxeberria over the crossbar. 13 mins: Raul wriggles his way through the Norwegian defence before seeing his deflected shot fly wide. 18 mins: Etxeberria is booked for a hasty trip on Andre Bergdolmo as the Norwegian defender looks to break forward.
20 mins: Bergdolmo's cross brings Ole Gunnar Solskjaer into the game for the first time and the Manchester United striker is desperately unlucky to see his flicked header rattle the crossbar with Molina beaten. 30 mins: Spain answer back as Michel Salgado's cross is met superbly by the head of Ismael Urzaiz, who forces an excellent save from Myhre low to his right. 39 mins: Iversen and Solskjaer combine to put Flo in the clear, but he blazes wildly over the bar from the edge of the penalty area. 40 mins: Raul seems to have his route to goal blocked, but manages to poke a shot which forces Myhre into another sound save.
41 mins: Seconds later Raul is through again as Norway's appeals for offside are ignored, but the young Spanish striker drags his shot wide of the far post. 43 mins: Finally, Raul puts the ball in the net. But it's in vain as the linesman's flag had already been dubiously raised for offside against Raul following Fran's fine ball over the top. 45 mins: In first-half injury time, Solskjaer shrugs off the close attentions of Fernando Hierro to control Vegard Heggem's right-wing cross before turning and shooting straight at Molina.
54 mins: There is no let up for Myhre, as the Everton keeper is tested again within 10 minutes of the restart. Myhre can only palm down Fran's wicked strike, but then dives bravely at the feet of Raul as he looks to follow up for a goal.
66 mins: The deadlock is finally broken by Iversen - with a huge helping hand from Molina. The Spanish keeper comes to meet a huge punt forward, but is outjumped by the Tottenham striker, whose header loops into the top left-hand corner of the Spanish net.
69 mins: Myhre is controversially penalised for holding the ball for more than six seconds but Norway defend the resulting free kick brilliantly. First, Erik Mykland charges down Hierro's piledriver, before Solskjaer reacts to block Salgado's shot from the rebound. 70 mins: Salgado becomes the second Spanish player to go into referee Gamal El Ghandour's notebook as he trips goalscorer Iversen in full flight. 78 mins: Salgado chests the ball down before dipping a volley agonisingly wide of the far post with Myhre beaten.
80 mins: Substitute Gaizka Mendieta sneaks in behind the Norwegian defence to hit a stinging low shot which Myhre pushes round his near post. 84 mins: Guardiola plays an inch-perfect cross into the Norwegian penalty area, but Urzaiz and Raul get in each other's way as Raul heads woefully wide. 90 mins: Iversen is substituted to a fantastic reception from the Norwegian fans after he scores Norway's first goal in the championship finals on their first appearance.
Spain: Molina, Salgado, Hierro, Paco, Aranzabal, Guardiola, Etxeberria, Fran, Valeron, Raul, Urzaiz. Norway: Myhre, Heggem, Bragstad, Berg, Bergdolmo, Skammelsrud, Mykland, Bakke, Solskjaer, Iversen, Flo.
