Danes' day of rest
![]() Denmark lost 3-0 to France in their opening match
Life in Group D is already taking its toll on Denmark.
Having been drawn alongside Holland, France and the Czech Republic it was never going to be easy for Bo Johannson's men to make progress in the tournament. A 3-0 drubbing at the hands of France on Sunday did not help that situation and nearly half of Denmark's squad took a day off training on Tuesday. Team spokesman Lars Berendt explained: "Ten players did not train. They are resting and having massage."
Chelsea sweeper Jes Hogh, who missed the opener with France, is still struggling with an Achilles tendon strain though the Danes remain hopeful that he will be able to take some part in the tournament. AC Milan defender Thomas Helveg has a leg muscle injury and while it is not expected to be serious at present, it is not clear whether he or Hogh will be fit to face the Dutch.
