Girl's parents bankrupt her killer
Oxwich Bay
Police discovered Joanne's body at Oxwich Bay
The parents of a murdered Swansea teenager have had her killer declared bankrupt.

Adam Fury was jailed four years ago for killing Joanne Tregembo.

Her body was discovered in woodland at Oxwich Bay on the Gower Peninsula in May 1995.

Joanne Tregembo
Joanne Tregembo: Murdered
Joanne had been stabbed repeatedly and battered with a hammer.

At Fury's trial, the judge remarked that the fear and suffering Joanne had endured must have been beyond imagining.

From his prison cell, Adam Fury began legal action against the Ministry of Defence for bullying he claims he suffered while serving in the Army.

If he had succeeded, he could have been awarded many thousands of pounds in compensation.

Now he is bankrupt, he will not qualify for legal aid and will have to give up his compensation claim.

Paul and Gaynor Tregembo said they were not pursuing a vendetta against Fury, but wanted justice for their daughter.

They brought a civil case after her death, in which Fury was ordered to pay them ten thousand pounds compensation.

So if his claim against the MoD had been successful, they would have had first call on the money.
