Rajesh Pilot's funeral takes place

The funeral has taken place in India of the senior Congress party member, Rajesh Pilot, who was killed in a car crash on Sunday.

Hundreds of mourners attended the cremation ceremony in Delhi.

The death of Mr Pilot, who was sometimes referred to as the conscience of the Congress party, has shocked many people in India and according to analysts, dealt a further blow to the opposition party's already damaged prospects.

Many Indian politicians, including the prime minister, have paid tribute to Mr Pilot.

He had been mooted as a potential challenger to Sonia Gandhi, who in her two years in charge of the party has been unable to revive its fortunes despite the respect her family name commands.
