Spain set for Norway test
Raul
Raul can spark Spain as Norway loom large
Raul is confident Spain can end their goal drought and chop Norway down to size in Rotterdam on Tuesday evening.

"We've studied their play and we know how to hurt them," said the Real Madrid striker.

The Spaniards couldn't stop scoring in qualifying, amassing 42 goals in just eight games, but alarmingly the goals dried up as Euro 2000 approached.

Coach Jose Antonio Camacho has blamed the gruelling club season for the sudden failure of his team to hit the back of the net.

The two sides last played each other four years ago, fighting out a goalless draw in Oslo

His squad includes 11 players from three of the four teams to make the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Five come from Real Madrid, with three each from Barcelona and Valencia.

But at least Raul is fit and poised to lead the attack after missing Spain's last two friendlies with a muscle strain.

Also available is Madrid team-mate Michel Salgado, who is expected to line up at right-back after injuring an ankle on Saturday.

Spain will have their work cut out combating an imposing Norwegian side.

Chelsea's Tore Andre Flo is just one of several man mountains in Nils Johan Semb's squad.

Camacho certainly rates the Scandinavians highly and is quick to guard against over-confidence.

He is also keen to play down talk of his team being one of the top tips to win the tournament.

"Until Spain wins something we can't be considered a favourite," he said.

Euphoria

"If we win against Norway it'll be a case of euphoria and if we lose it'll be a disaster.

"If we lose the first game we can still go through. We could also win on Tuesday, then lose our next two games and be back home."

As for Norway, they have been boosted by the return of Henning Berg.

The Manchester United defender has overcome a hamstring strain and is set to face Spain.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also available after becoming a father on Friday.

"He can now concentrate on playing the games and not be worried," said Semb, who has guided Norway to the European Championship finals for the first time in their history.

Solsjaer is likely to play alongside Valencia-bound John Carew, just behind Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo.
