Medium pace duo on top

Stuart Lampitt claimed four Nottinghamshire wickets
Division 2

Worcestershire beat Nottinghamshire by 106 runs

Medium pace duo Stuart Lampitt and David Leatherdale did the damage for Worcestershire as they had a comfortable 106-run win over Nottinghamshire.

The pair took seven wickets between them as the home side were restricted to 275.

Chasing a target of 382, Notts could only realistically hope for a draw.

They were struggling at 151 for five when left-handers Paul Franks and David Millns launched a fightback, but they could only delay the inevitable.

Middlesex v Sussex - Match drawn

A fed-up crowd jeered the players off as Sussex and Middlesex played out the tamest of draws.

There still appeared to be some room to manoeuvre for cpatains Justin Langer and Chris Adams, who failed to agree on a target for the hosts to chase.

Mike Roseberry hit a season best 87 as Middlesex reached 337 for six to be 407 in front when they declared at 5.20pm.

He and David Nash had added 123 in 34 overs for the sixth wicket to raise the highest stand of the match.
