Comedian faces further questioning
Roy
Chubby Brown stormed off stage after throwing glass
Comedian Roy "Chubby" Brown faces more police questioning about throwing a glass during a performance in which he was heckled continually by a member of the audience.

The object smashed on a speaker and showered members of the audience with shards of glass during a show at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham on Friday, according to a theatre spokesman.

Five people received scratches to their arms and one woman was taken to hospital with a "grazed" eye, the spokesman said.

Mr Brown stormed offstage and the performance was immediately cancelled.

Theatre manager James Haworth said the comic threw the glass in "frustration".

He said the incident was sparked by someone in the front row who continually heckled the comic.

"Chubby Brown's tour manager asked the security man to remove this audience member from the auditorium," said Mr Haworth.

"Before our security man was able to do this, Chubby Brown took his glass of water off his piano and threw it towards the wing of the stage.

'Frustration'

"The glass hit a speaker on the side of the stage and shattered with some of the glass going into the first two rows of the stalls.

"The glass was thrown in frustration by Chubby Brown at not being allowed to perform his act.

"The glass was directed at the side of the stage and not at the audience."

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Mr Chubby Brown has been interviewed and we will be interviewing him again.

"He is out of the country at the moment but we will be talking to him again when he comes back."
