Nine dead in collision in Uganda

Nine people have so far been confirmed dead after an oil truck burst into flames following a collision with a minibus and a van in southern Uganda.

A police spokesman said the accident happened when a speeding minibus with more than twenty passengers on board tried to overtake a pickup van as the oil truck came towards them.

Both the minibus and the pickup van rammed head-on into the truck which immediately burst into flames.
