Algerian newspaper editor dead

The editor of one of Algeria's most influential newspapers has died.

Kheireddine Ameyar, the editor of the French-language daily, La Tribune, died last night in Algiers at the age of fifty-four.

Correspondents says his sudden death has left the Algerian press in shock, with newspapers unanimously paying tribute to him.
