Berg's fitness battle

Henning Berg faces a battle to be fit for Norway's opening game in Euro 2000 on Tuesday.
The Manchester United defender has been forced out of training with a slight hamstring problem but remains hopeful of recovering in time for the Group C clash with Spain. Berg is seen as the experienced rock on whom the defence is built and is crucial to Norway's hopes of progressing to the second round. Berg said: "I'm taking it easy and hoping I will be OK to train on Sunday. "I'm feeling tightness at the back of my leg. It has loosened up a bit. It's a lot better but we will have to wait and see." Vegard Heggem is also a major doubt but is hopeful of making the game, despite worries over his calf. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, given leave to attend the birth of his son yesterday, was expected to rejoin his team-mates at their Belgium base this weekend.
