Bangladesh kidnappings |
|
| Women in Bangladesh are being told to beware of strangers promising them a prosperous new life, and if the stranger gets pushy, fight him off. The advice is part of a new million dollar campaign by the International Organisation for Migration. It is trying to curb the huge illegal business of kidnapping and selling Bangladeshi women and children, mostly to India and Pakistan. At the moment, hundreds are abducted and sold into prostitution every week. The BBCs David Chazan has been to a rehabilitation centre in Dhaka to hear some of their stories. |
