British troops criticised by charity
British troops in Kosovo have been criticised over the arrest of a Serb man being treated in a hospital south of the regional capital, Pristina. Doctors from the Greek branch of the charity Medicins du Monde said the troops forced their way into the clinic and threatened local staff before taking the man, Nebojsa Stojanovic, away. Mr Stojanovic is accused of attempting to shoot the commander of the British forces in Kosovo, Brigadier Richard Shireff. KFOR officials denied that medical staff were threatened during the operation. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
