Radiohead announce tent tour
![]() Radiohead will spend 10 days under canvas
Rock giants Radiohead have announced details of their first UK tour for three years - with all the concerts to be held under canvas.
The band will play 10 dates in England, Scotland and Wales this autumn, as well as a one-off appearance in London in July. To accommodate their fans, they will be bringing their own 10,000 capacity tent to each location. The Oxford-based five-piece hit upon the idea to give them more control and cut out dealings with corporate sponsors. They hope the hi-tech Kayam tent will also help ensure the quality of their sound.
Radiohead, whose OK Computer album is widely regarded as one of the best records of all time, will kick off the tour at Tredegar House in Newport on 1 September. After a three-week break, they will play Victoria Park in east London, followed by Glasgow Green and finishing at Victoria Park in Warrington. The band will put on at least two concerts in each venue, preceded by a set at London's Meltdown Festival on 1 July. Radiohead have been out of the limelight for the past two years, concentrating on their fourth album. Tickets go on sale on 17 June.
